Therapy for Pregnancy & Postpartum Anxiety/Depression
You want more than anything to enjoy this time, but you feel stuck.
Your baby is on the way (or maybe they are already here), yet you’re not feeling that "glow” everyone keeps talking about. Others have told you that this time flies by, but you feel like every hour is dragging. You’ve heard other women talk about how much they loved pregnancy and the postpartum period, and you’re starting to wonder if you’re the only one who feels like this is hard. Between physical discomfort, sleep deprivation, and sickness, you’re starting to feel like maybe you’re not cut out for this.
You’re ready to get some relief.

Did you know that perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) are the #1 complication of childbirth?
The most updated research has found that 1 in 5 women experience PMADs during the perinatal period (pregnancy and up to a year postpartum). In addition, over 45% of women experience their births as traumatic and many of them experience residual trauma-related symptoms. With proper treatment, these conditions are highly treatable. Things do not have to be this way and it can get better.

During the first session, my goal is to create a warm, comfortable, and safe space as we begin to build our therapeutic relationship. I will start by collecting some background information so I can better understand what your experience has been like thus far. We will then collaboratively establish goals for treatment and agree on a treatment plan tailored to your unique experience.

Most of my clients start to experience some relief in the first 1-3 months of weekly appointments, but total length of treatment tends to vary depending on the individual’s life circumstances. Frequently, I stay connected with my clients throughout various points in their journeys, with session frequency changing as needed during each period.
