A safe place to find peace, heal, and rediscover yourself

As far as everyone can tell, you’re doing fine

I know it’s starting to feel harder to juggle everything while keeping it all together. You’re probably noticing that you’ve been feeling more burnt out, exhausted, and anxious lately. You wish you could just stop forgetting things and quit worrying so much. When you let yourself slow down for a few minutes, you realize that you feel completely overwhelmed. You keep asking yourself, “how did I get here?”

To others you seem like you have it all together, but on the inside, you feel like you’re falling apart. You’ve know you shouldn’t compare yourself to others, but you can’t help but wonder how everything seems so easy for everyone else. You work so hard, and it isn’t fair that things are still this difficult.

Does this sound familiar?

Maybe you’re finding that:

  • It’s getting harder to keep up with your demanding career

  • You’re struggling to keep your anxiety at bay

  • Your efforts to grow your family aren’t going as planned

  • You’ve experienced a traumatic birth or depression/anxiety during pregnancy or the postpartum period

  • You’re feeling burnt out navigating the marathon of motherhood, or

  • You are looking to finally heal from traumatic experiences that have been keeping you stuck

I want you to know

Finding yourself here, reading this, is your first step towards relief.

You don’t have to feel this way forever.

Hi There! I’M DR. AMBER PENN.

I help women who are used to holding it all together move past overwhelm and anxiety to feel grounded and find peace.

I know how heavy it can feel to juggle the never-ending demands, the mental load, and the uncertainty about the future. In therapy with me, you can expect more than just a space to talk—I’ll be an active partner in your healing. I listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and offer guidance that helps you move toward real change. Our sessions balance reflection with practical support, giving you not only coping strategies for the day-to-day but also the deeper work that leads to lasting growth. This might mean untangling old patterns that keep you stuck, healing wounds you’ve carried in silence, or learning to meet yourself with a new sense of compassion and understanding.

I know that you’ve been doing so much for so long & I’m here to tell you that it’s okay to take care of you, too.

As a reproductive psychologist, my passion for this work grew out of my own journey into motherhood. I know firsthand how complex, overwhelming, and deeply personal these experiences can be. That lived experience, combined with my many years of specialized training in women’s mental health, allows me to walk alongside you with both professional expertise and genuine empathy. what i can help with

I specialize in therapy that works for the unique needs of women.

  • With the pressure to “do it all” (and do it perfectly), it’s no wonder so many people (especially women) are left feeling anxious, stressed, and burnt out. As a perfectionist, high-achiever, and recovering people pleaser myself - I get it. I know how hard it is to break out of the patterns you’ve been in for so long without feeling like you’re completely losing yourself.

Together, we will help you regulate your nervous system, set and hold boundaries, stop the “what if” worst case scenarios playing through your head, and help you tame that inner critic.

  • Infertility and perinatal loss can feel like such an isolating experience. In fact, research shows that the mental health impact of these experiences can feel just as intense as the mental health impacts of being diagnosed with cancer!

Unfortunately, people experiencing infertility often have trouble getting support from others in their lives. Instead, they are often met with the bingo cards of well-meaning, yet misguided “have you tried ___” advice when they seek support.

As someone with hours of professional training in this area in addition to lived experience, I am able to effectively provide high-quality, specialized treatment for the mental health impacts of infertility, pregnancy loss, and difficulties while trying to conceive (TTC). Examples of these difficulties may include primary and secondary infertility diagnoses, miscarriage/neonatal loss, stillbirth, and engagement in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) such as IUI or IVF.

  • I am a certified perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, with advanced training in the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs).

My particular areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD during pregnancy and postpartum, as well as treatment of the emotional impacts of birth trauma and NICU admissions. I utilize the most current and evidence-based approaches to help women get relief and reconnect with themselves and their families.

  • I specialize in helping moms reconnect to themselves and learn to thrive within the marathon of motherhood. I have particular expertise in helping moms cope with mom guilt/rage, navigate changes related to work/career identity, break generational patterns, and improve their relationships. I have advanced training in mindful self-compassion and internal family systems (IFS), and I use these approaches to help my clients become the parent they want to be.

  • Many individuals find themselves impacted by traumatic experiences they experienced before or while on their journey to parenthood. They have often tried everything to "just get over it" (and maybe for a while thought they had!) but then find that it comes creeping back up again when they least expect it.

I specialize in using the most evidence-based and effective treatment approaches to heal from the impact of trauma. If you're looking for healing from your experience of childhood trauma, infertility, perinatal loss, birth trauma, or other difficult experiences you had along your journey, you are in the right place.
